Web Access Awarded NASSCOM Innovator Award 2008 second time in a row

Genesis
Introduced in 2004 for the first time to recognize the innovators in the Indian IT-BPO industry, the NASSCOM Innovation Awards have grown into a prestigious platform, which recognizes the best of the best innovators in the Indian IT-BPO industry. In the fifth year (2008) of the Awards NASSCOM introduced a knowledge partner, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), to bring in robustness to the selection process and online submission of nominations.
The objective of the NASSCOM Innovation Initiative is to encourage innovative practices across the IT-ITES Industry by developing a ecosystem that is conducive to fostering innovativeness, technological advancement and the creation of IP. The innovation initiative encompasses recognition of innovation in various segments of the IT industry, development of collaborative platforms to spur innovation and seed capital funding for entrepreneurs engaged in the development of new technologies.

The Award
Web Access participated for the first time in this competition in 2007. Our product “EPF – Executive Presentation Format“ was adjudged as one of the Top 100 Innovative products and Web Access was awarded Top 100 IT Innovator Award. You can see more details at:

During 2008 Web Access developed a parsing algorithm and created a product around the algorithm. The product ‘Digitizing Transmuter’ has been commercially tested for parsing PDF files of ABS deals and generate ABS Securities Index. The Index is published every month.

Digitizing Transmuter is patent pending in the US. We fielded this product for the NASSCOM 2008 Innovator competition. The product was adjudged as one of the top innovative products of the year. Web Access was awarded the IT Innovator Award in amongst a group of 50 companies, down from 100 companies in 2007 and only 13 common names between 2007 and 2008 winners of the award.
