WebTutor facilitates mentoring relationships between professional faculty and learners worldwide. WebTutor is a customizable learning environment that can be adapted for many e-learning scenarios from schools to corporate training portals.

Toolkids is a series of interactive CDs of creative tools for the very young, with universal language independent interfaces, to make them suitable for use by anyone, anywhere, without requiring any translation or without any language constraints.

Training is a universal phenomenon and there are several challenges faced. One of the primary challenges faced in mass training is maintaining the quality as well as the consistency of the training material. Traditionally, Power Point presentations are created. These are then distributed to the trainers, who are typically located across a large geographical area. And as and when changes take place, and in most cases this happens as often as several times a month, these are communicated by mail, and the trainer is expected to make the changes. What has been found is that this process is difficult to monitor and several inconsistencies happen. The second problem that takes place is that there are several versions of the same presentation available and quite often, an older version gets used. And finally, in cases of multi session training, there is major confusion and wasstage of training time in locating the right presentation. Amongst several other limitations, there is also the limitation of the presentation being linear in nature and hence not amiable to spontaneous change by the trainer. Another limitation is the ability to seamlessly use surround material, such as applications, websites, et al.

EPF was created to overcome all of these limitations. Add a few necessary tools. And make training material, easy and effective to use. EPF is a training tool that embeds presentations (Video, Flash, PowerPoint, etc.) and makes them all available to the trainer in an easy-to-use manner.

While building a POC for a business analytics application which emphasized on faster data retrieval from business driven queries on a large volume of data, we knew we had to think out of the MySQL box. Retrieving data using MySQL, especially when the data is very huge, can take quite long.
 
We had to handle the 0.2 million records. The query involved searching through all of the records and took 15 odd minutes when we implemented it using MySQL :-(
 

Feature: Graphical representation of the reports. 
“Jasper Report” is one of the options that we choose for the graphically displaying reports. Jasper report is implemented with the help of jrxml file which acts as an editor for designing graphical report.

While in a project which involved handling lots of data, we came across an interesting issue. After importing data into our database, we had to validate the data and mark the invalid ones.

In the bonds and derivative market, there are circumstances where in data needs to be extracted from multiple PDFs and Excel Formats, to fill the same into the Database. Manually doing this wastes a large amount of time. This is the same problem our client faced. Web Access’s answer for it is DataSpan.

I have come across a plethora of applications over the Web that allow organizations to conduct Online Tests. The disadvantage? None seem to provide a way for the Organization to customize the tests which makes those products to be classified under use-and-throw i.e: if the Organization wants to conduct a different test they are stuck!!

Most births are planned, or so the parents would have us believe, but we all know that most births are accidents. And this is probably true for all things, including software products. One of my favourite products, ScreenPen was born in a very normal fashion. By pure accident. And for the record, all of WA's products are one of my favourite products.
